The Garden Returns to Sun Peaks
The Garden is set to drop in the terrain park for the third year in a row at Sun Peaks Resort, on Sunday, February 15. Presented by Oronge Board Shop, this grass roots park jam will encourage skiers and snowboarders to push their riding ability and show off their skills.
It’s all about points at the 2009 Garden. Participants in each category will have two 25 minute jams to earn as many points from the judges as possible. The top point leaders will be declared the winners! And the winners get more than just bragging rights. Oronge Board Shop is bringing $5000 in prizes to be won in the Garden.
It’s snowboarders against snowboarders and skiers versus skiers. Those groups will also be divided into three separate categories: Grom (12 and under), Junior (13 to 16), Open (Advanced), and Girl’s Open.
Trevor Seeby will be on the turn tables to keep the vibe going for this year’s Garden. And it wouldn’t be a park jam without hot dogs on the BBQ and beverages courtesy of Pepsi.
Registration for the Garden is by donation ($5 suggestion) and all proceeds go to the Bluebird Day Fund, which provides local riders with support and/or resources to assist in their growth and development in the sport of snowboarding. The Bluebird Day Fund also purchases a new feature for the terrain park each year.
