Sun Peaks Alpine Club Hosts Races this Weekend

Sun Peaks, BC (January 12, 2011) – Approximately 120 racers between the ages of 11 and 60 years old will take to the slopes at Sun Peaks this weekend for a Teck Okanagan Zone Kinder Race, presented by the Sun Peaks Alpine Club, Sun Peaks Resort, and BC Alpine.

Racers are coming to Sun Peaks from as far away as the Yukon for the races on Saturday and Sunday at Sun Peaks Resort. Clubs include Apex, Big White, Silver Star, Mount Baldy, Prince George, Revelstoke and a Yukon club.

The races commence at 9:30am both days on the OSV run on Tod Mountain. OSV is the same run where the Austrian National Ski Team trains at Sun Peaks every November before the World Cup circuit begins.

Volunteers are still needed for the races. Please email Karen at garren@intergate.ca or visit the BC Alpine website if you are interested in helping out.
