The Spirit of the Games Returns to Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks Family Games: February 20-25, 2011

Sun Peaks, BC (February 17, 2011) – As the country celebrates the anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Sun Peaks is gearing up for the 2nd Annual Sun Peaks Family Games to keep the spirit front and centre in the village.

There is a fun, family activity every day next week from February 20 to 25, ranging from obstacle courses, to children’s ski and snowboard races, and hockey skills challenges on the outdoor ice rink.

Sign your family up for the 3 Peaks Biathlon on Sunday, February 20. Participants race to the top of all three mountains at Sun Peaks to compete in accuracy and agility challenges. Test your aim as you use a toy Nerf gun to hit the mark and challenge your balance in a one foot ski/snowboard through a pylon course.

Hit up the Sun Peaks Tube Park to try your hand at Sun Peaks Skeleton, tube style! Hop on a tube and slide down the tube park for the best time as results are displayed on a scoreboard for everyone to see.

Grab your family for the final event of the Sun Peaks Family Games...the Family Poker Run on Friday, February 25. This all-mountain poker run will have participants skiing to each poker station to receive a playing card. The team with the best poker hand wins!
