Canada’s Premiere Slopestyle Series – Saturday, March 12, 2011
Sun Peaks, BC (March 7, 2011) – Snowboarders are taking over the Rockstar Energy Terrain Park at Sun Peaks Resort on Saturday, March 12 for the You Look Good Rider’s Cup (YLGRC). The YLGRC continues to be the nation’s pre-eminent slopestyle contest series handing out thousands of dollars in prizing across the country. Sun Peaks is the third stop on this four resort tour, having already visited Mt. Tremblant and Mt. Seymour.
Now in it’s seventh year, the You Look Good Rider’s Cup is truly an anything goes competition. Riders execute tricks on features throughout the slopestyle course as they make their way to the bottom. Judges will be watching for level of difficulty and execution of the tricks, as well as the difficulty of the features they choose to incorporate into their run.
Snowboarders will compete in four categories: Grom (12 and under), Renegade (13 to 15), the Salomon Bonfire Amteur Open and the Coors Light Pro Open.
Registration for the Sun Peaks event will take place on Friday, March 11 from 9:00am to 10:00am in the breezeway of the Village Day Lodge and again Saturday morning from 7:30am to 10:30am.
If you aren’t competing, this is a fantastic spectator event, so don’t miss out! For the best viewing, take the Sundance Express Chairlift to the top and ski down the Sundance run over to Sun Catcher and down to the park.
